The Officers of our club
PRESIDENT
- Chief Executive Officer of the Club
- Presides over all club meetings and meetings of the Board of Directors.
- Elected by the members for twelve months
- Attends Zone Meetings and District functions
- Relays the club news and any views through to the District Governor and his team.
IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT
- Offers experience and guidance to the President
VICE PRESIDENT(S)
- Deputise(s) for the President in any periods of absence.
SECRETARY
- Deals with all correspondence received
- Maintains Club records
- Submits monthly reports on Club Membership and activities to the District Governor and to Lions Club International
- Submits Annual Activities Report to Lions Club International
- Responsible for giving the apologies of members who are unable to attend a meeting.
TREASURER
- Responsible for all monies received and disbursed
- Maintains the Club accounts
- Reports on the financial position at each Club meeting.
LION TAMER
- Looks after Club property including regalia, bannerettes, flags, gavel and bell
- Responsible for introducing guests at Club meetings
MEMBERSHIP CHAIRMAN
- Heads the Membership Committee
- Responsible for recruitment and retention of members.
FUND RAISING/ACTIVITIES CHAIRMAN
- Heads the fund raising committee
- Responsible for the Club's fund raising programme.
SERVICE/WELFARE CHAIRMAN
- Heads the committee responsible for researching requests for help
- Recommends appropriate action to the Club
MEMBERS' WELFARE OFFICER
- Keeps in touch with all members, especially those who fall sick and those who fail to attend meetings.
HEALTH & SAFETY/RISK ASSESSMENT OFFICER
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with current legislated Health and Safety regulations
- Assesses all Club activities and associated risks to minimise the likelihood of accidents
TAIL TWISTER
- Fines members for various "offences," imagined or other¬wise, in a humorous manner at club meetings
- Fines collected go to the Administration Account.
- [The tail twister can only be fined by a unanimous vote of all present at a meeting.]
VULNERABLE PERSONS OFFICER
- Advises the Club on the requirements of the Vulnerable Persons Policy
- Maintains records of those members with CRB Disclosure Certification.
- Assesses whether club activities require the members and helpers involved in them to be vetted for listing with the Independent Safeguarding Authority
