Boxing Day Dip 2011
Lion President John Hinchen digs out his pyjamas and a wig (the one on his chest) to carry on the tradition of the club president being the first into the water but somehow just can't
stay away from the front of a camera as he does his bit for the local press as well. As usual, dippers dig a variety of items out of the closet in an attempt to win a fancy dress prize.
A couple of fishy characters suck their pipes as a group reindeers pose with the club president and the Worshipful Town Mayor, Councillor Sue Wallace. Smurfs were a major theme
this year, probably due the new movie coming out, as were the tributes to the late Jimmy Saville
Lion Mark Bailey was probaly raising money for a waxing but when the club president appeared on the scene (I told you he couldn't stay away from the camera) they indulge in a bit of
"you show me yours and I'll show you mine" (chest wigs that is). Talking of digging things out of the closet, this chap must have really had to rummage through his drawers to find
anything big enough but in the end and settled this nifty little number, whilst this group must have alienated themselves from the rest of the family by nicking the foil that was meant to
have been used to cook the turkey.
Not a lot you can say about this really - perhaps he was an incognito 'elf and safety expert checking up to see if everyone had signed the "I understand that the water may be cold"
certificate that the local council demanded that we include in every entry form. Is this Charlie's Angels, Charlie with his angels or just a proper Charlie?
